The "Care" series is dedicated to all caregivers and doctors who have helped my family so much over the past few years. On a deeper level, these artworks are symbols of the innate need we have to care for others. The portraits do not depict specific individuals but are icons radiating an inner energy and embodying an almost divine aspect. One could also see them as angels. The colors are inspired by color palettes from the medical sector, and the cross, reminiscent of the Red Cross, appears as a unifying element throughout the series.

The German Red Cross has a history of over 150 years, beginning in 1863 in Baden-Württemberg when the first Red Cross society in the world was founded. The idea of ​​helping people regardless of their origin, religion, or nationality originated with the Swiss Henry Dunant.

In 1859, Henry Dunant was traveling as a businessman in Italy when he witnessed the devastating aftermath of the Battle of Solferino. The sight of many wounded soldiers deeply shocked him. Instead of pursuing his original business affairs, he took care of the wounded, washed wounds, distributed food and water, and organized medical care. He also mobilized the local population to assist in the aid effort, emphasizing the equal treatment of all casualties regardless of nationality.

Dunant advocated for enemy doctors to provide assistance as well, practicing with them the principle of neutrality and equal treatment of all wounded. This aspect of the inherent, profound dignity of every human being is part of my art and is expressed in the aesthetics and beauty that I celebrate in form and color – thus reflecting the viewer's own inner dignity. At the same time, they are encouraged to see the same in their fellow human beings.
