Anima — the power of the soul

In Latin, anima means 'breath of air, breath, soul, life' - animus and anima are central archetypes in Carl Gustav Jung's analytical psychology, which are anchored in the collective unconscious and influence human imagination and emotionality. These archetypes manifest themselves in moods, dreams and myths and represent the feminine nature in the unconscious of men (anima) and the masculine nature in the unconscious of women (animus). Jung emphasized that both archetypes can have both positive and negative, light and dark effects.

In this art series, Baldur Galoor paints his anima, which manifests itself in figures, creatures, animals and symbols that transcend time and space, often with mythological, religious and spiritual references. This glimpse into Baldur's psychic cosmos generates the power of the collective subconscious, gripping and animating the viewer and awakening his own unconscious powers to explore the deepest desires of his soul.
